Our Jazz 3 class is designed for dancers who have mastered the fundamentals of jazz and are ready to take their technique and performance to a more advanced level. This class builds on the skills learned in Jazz 1 and 2, introducing more complex movements, combinations, and choreography while focusing on developing precision, strength, flexibility, and performance quality.

In Jazz 3, students will refine their understanding of jazz technique, working on more intricate steps such as pirouettes, chassés, grand jetés, and split leaps. Students will also develop their turning techniques, learning more advanced turns like chainé turns, fouetté turns, and spotting to improve their control and stability. The class will focus on enhancing extension, improving balance, and building core strength, which are essential for executing more demanding choreography with precision.

Jazz 3 will also incorporate a variety of dynamic movement styles, including lyrical jazz, modern jazz, and contemporary influences, expanding the students’ versatility and artistic expression. They will work on isolations (moving individual body parts independently), body rolls, jumps, and floor work that require a combination of technique and flexibility. This class encourages students to push their limits while maintaining proper technique and musicality.

Performance and expression play a key role in this class, as dancers work on incorporating more emotional depth and style into their choreography. Students will be encouraged to explore their own movement quality, adding personality and emotion to each routine, while still maintaining sharpness and precision in their execution. Jazz dance is about connecting with the music and conveying energy through movement, and Jazz Grade 3 allows students to begin experimenting with these performance aspects in a more advanced setting.

Progression:
This class provides a strong foundation for students to progress to Jazz 4, where they will continue to develop more complex routines and refine their technical skills. The Jazz 3 class also prepares students for performance opportunities, competitions, and examinations, giving them the tools to succeed both on stage and in future jazz training.

Our experienced teachers provide individual attention to help each dancer improve their technique, confidence, and performance ability. Whether working toward an exam, a performance, or simply improving their dance skills, our Jazz 3 class offers a challenging yet supportive environment for dancers to thrive and grow.
