Our Jazz 4 class is designed for dancers who have a solid foundation in jazz technique and are ready to take their skills to the next level. Building on the work done in previous grades, this class introduces more complex choreography, advanced technical movements, and greater emphasis on performance quality. Students will refine their jazz technique while exploring a wider range of movement styles, building strength, flexibility, and artistry.

In Jazz 4, dancers will focus on mastering advanced movements such as high kicks, leaps, turns (including pirouettes and turn sequences), and isolations. More attention will be given to improving their extension, flexibility, and strength to execute moves with precision and control. Students will also work on increasingly challenging jump sequences and partnering work, which will push them to become more dynamic in their performances.

The class will also incorporate musicality and rhythm to develop a deeper connection to the music. Students will be encouraged to explore different jazz styles, including classic jazz, lyrical jazz, and contemporary jazz, allowing them to build versatility and expressiveness. This class will help dancers learn to interpret music not just through the technical execution of steps, but also through emotional and stylistic expression, which is a key element of jazz dance.

Jazz 4 challenges students to integrate their growing technical ability with the performance qualities needed for stage work. Dancers will learn to interpret and express the music with greater freedom, incorporating sharpness, fluidity, and attitude into their movements. Performance skills will be honed through choreography and improvisation, encouraging students to develop their personal style and stage presence.

Progression:
As students complete Jazz 4, they will be prepared for more advanced levels, such as Jazz 5, where they will work on even more intricate choreography, increase their performance skills, and refine their overall jazz technique. This class also serves as preparation for those interested in taking exams or performing in showcases, competitions, or professional settings.
